Isaiah 28

9 ¶ Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.

10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.

12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.

13 But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

Sola Scriptura
(Latin - by Scripture Alone)

Book 56, Titus 1:9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

I believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and that it is preserved in the form we should have it. Far from being obsolete it is more relevant to our daily lives than ever before. As Lester Roloff used to say, " the Bible does not need to be re-written, it needs to be re-read."

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
II Timothy 3:16,17

God Almighty is not as careless with His Word as many folks seem to imagine. The promise in Psalm 12 is that HE will keep His Word and that HE will preserve His Word "from this generation forever" . I have as much respect for the genuine original manuscripts, i.e. Textus Receptus, as anyone but I have never seen them and you haven't either. I know that the Lord speaks to me through the Bible and He wants to speak to you too.

I have found the Book of the Lord. Let us rejoice and be glad. Whenever I hear the Bible criticized, it reminds me of the muck raker in Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan. There is an illustrative drawing in the original version which shows an angry looking old man raking trash on the ground while behind him, the Lord is proffering the crown of life. I think the real question is, are a lost Bible critic or an overeducated, carnal Bible critic "saved yet so as by fire"?

I Timothy 4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

Matthew 13

44 ¶ Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

Isaiah 12

2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

3 Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.

John 5:39 ¶ Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

If you are looking for truth you can find it here. I can boldly make that assertion because the focus of this site is the Bible. Jesus told the Pharisees to "Search the Scriptures"; it isn't about me.  What will you do then with Jesus which is called Christ?
