Jeremiah 8

9 The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the word of the LORD; and what wisdom is in them?

Isaiah 29

9 ¶ Stay yourselves, and wonder; cry ye out, and cry: they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink.

10 For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered.

11 And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed:

12 And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.

13 ¶ Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:

14 Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.

Luke 10

21 ¶ In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.
This is the only verse in Scripture where it says "Jesus rejoiced."

Isaiah 66

5 ¶ Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.

Jeremiah 26

2 Thus saith the LORD; Stand in the court of the LORD'S house, and speak unto all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in the LORD'S house, all the words that I command thee to speak unto them; diminish not a word:

Isaiah 66

1 Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?

2 For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.

What about you my friend? Do you tremble at the Word of God or is it simply just another old book to be critiqued using worn out clichés?

• All scripture quotes and all doctrinal stances are from the King James Version, which I revere as the words of God, preserved as we should have it in the English language. We should quote it, print it, and hold it fast. I dedicate this humble work to that Blessed book which has been the Kiss of God on my life. John 6:68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. I do not need or want any other Bible.

• You may notice that the phrase "Sola Scriptura" is used liberally throughout the site. The essence of this Latin Phrase is "Scripture Alone". It is my life's motto & defines the final authority in responding to any given situation. It is the guiding paradigm throughout the design and implementation of this site. There are instances where I quote information from historical documents, when that information is not available in the AV 1611 Bible. When I do so, realize that I do not consider these other sources to be authoritative. Only the Scriptures are "The final authority in all matters of faith and practice".
• One example is the name of the rich man, at whose gate Lazarus begged in Luke 16. Historical documents give his name as "Dives", but he is not named in the Scriptures. If anyone can show me better information as to what his name may have been, I will reverse my opinion immediately because any quoted information from historical documents is not presented as authoritative. Only the Scriptures are the final authority.

Ecclesiastes 8:4 Where the word of a king is, there is power: and who may say unto him, What doest thou? - The Monarch of Books will be 414 years old in the year of our Lord 2025

The focus of this site is to exalt the Word of God. I was saved hearing the words of a King James Bible and believing it. It was not until years later that I learned "other versions of the Bible" existed while reading a commentary. I was going to church only spontaneously and rarely. I drifted in and out of various independent Baptist churches and, thankfully, had no exposure to the Bible rejecting so-called scholars at that vulnerable time. II Peter 1:20-21 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

I was curious, so each time I heard of a new version I rushed out and bought it. There was a Christian book store only 2 blocks from my apartment so each trip took only a few minutes and soon I accumulated quite a collection.

I will repeat the following as often as necessary because it is my fundamental guiding principle: The AV1611 KJV Bible is my final authority. The Bible is the first and last court of appeal in my life and in all of my treatises. I hold it in reverence as the only infallible source of truth I have ever found.

For those who feel duty bound to point out that I have "probably never seen a real AV-1611", you are absolutely correct. My pre-AV1611 Bibles as well as my AV-1611 (hover) are replicas. The more I read my KJV and the more I examine it's predecessors the more humbled I am regarding the Mighty Hand of God in preserving His Glorious Words.

In my humble opinion, the fact that the original documents are unobtainable and the King James Version can be preached, taught, and distributed without paying anyone anything is just one more proof of the witness of the Holy Spirit that the KJV is the fulfillment of the promise in Psalm 12:6-7. This is the only correct view. If that were not enough, there is the matter of the fruits of the AV-1611; all of the great, historic revivals were the result of preaching the KJV. So called "fruits" of other so called versions of the Bible are manufactured.

For the philosophers among us, put any label on me you wish, but it is useless trying to dissuade me from this position. The paradigm used here in developing Bible studies is to reflect on "What saith the scriptures?"

If you "prefer" other versions and find them "easier to read, memorize", etc. I have no quarrel with you, (Note that I don't believe you for a minute) but my own findings have been, most emphatically, the opposite and I am not alone. I happen to believe Psalm 12 which is quoted in part at the top of the column on your right. Incidentally, the inclusion of verse 8 of Psalm 12 is deliberate, appropriate, and most illuminating. Don't falter now. Look up, for your redemption draweth nigh.

Apostasy is an evil disease afflicting millions of Christians. It is, apparently highly communicable. I am not necessarily calling all those who read and use New Age versions (derived from the Greek text of Westcott and Hort) Apostates, but rather I am pointing the finger at the perpetrators of that loathsome, vile text. The infamy of Brooke Foss Westcott and Fenton John Anthony Hort lives on almost two centuries later. Some men's sins follow them to the grave.

In these latter days, the so called scholars who follow their pernicious ways apparently have the same spirit within. Psalm 12 Verse 8 is in the proper context, i.e. regarding the critics of the Lord's divinely inspired and preserved Scripture, "The wicked walk on every side when the vilest men are exalted". When the Scripture says "vilest men" I am certain it is directed at Bible Correctors. Keep an open mind and read my testimony before you lump me into the "King James Onlyism" category and move right along to the next site.

I most assuredly am a King James Only man and I make no apology for it. I humbly suggest that you might find it enlightening to read my testimony ( click here to read my testimony ) before passing judgment. Perhaps you will pause to consider that there may be more to this issue than most modern Christians think.

God is Worthy of Praise

II Timothy 3

1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers...unholy...
3 ... despisers of those that are good...
4 ... heady, highminded...
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

God is Worthy of Praise
The Final Authority

II Timothy 4:3-4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
Since we have only one life to live and after that the judgment, surely we can aspire to something greater than the praise of ungodly men. What say you? - James May

Psalm 12

6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

8 The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted.

John 6

63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

I Corinthians 2

14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

John 1:1-3

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

John 8

31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

CONSIDER 3 THINGS
1. Disciples Study the Word: II Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2. Trust the Word: Proverbs 3:5 ¶ Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
3. and Obey the Word: James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

II Timothy 4

1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

Jeremiah 5

12 They have belied the LORD, and said, It is not he; neither shall evil come upon us; neither shall we see sword nor famine:

13 And the prophets shall become wind, and the word is not in them: thus shall it be done unto them.

Amos 8

11 ¶ Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:

In case you have not noticed, the famine of hearing the Words of the LORD (Amos 8:11) is in full force and Jesus is coming soon.

I have three questions to offer you: Where do you stand on this issue? How did you get there? What is the Spirit of God saying to you right now?
