Isaiah 28
9 ¶ Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.
You will find numerous mentions of the "R.V." (Revised Version) in Easton's dictionary. Reverend Matthew George Easton passed away in 1894 and his dictionary was published 3 years later. It has been in the Public Domain for many years. Since it bears his name, it would be improper for me to alter the text of it in any way. However, I do reserve the right to insert context pertinent Scriptures from the real Words of God at any place I deem it helpful.
Easton's Bible Dictionary is presented here with no changes. I have wrapped it in
"xhtml and styled the content using css" both
of which I coded myself. I believe such a tool to be moderately useful at times
to look up the meanings of names of places and individuals and, occasionally,
to glean some historical information.
Anyone who knows me is aware that I do not recommend or use any other version than the King James Version (the AV 1611 derivative called the 4th Edition). I don't use the "New KJV" either.
Matthew 6
19 ¶ Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal.
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
