5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:

2 For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth.

Deuteronomy 26

18 And the LORD hath avouched thee this day to be his peculiar people, as he hath promised thee, and that thou shouldest keep all his commandments;

Psalm 135

4 For the LORD hath chosen Jacob unto himself, and Israel for his peculiar treasure.

Titus 2

14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

I Peter 2

9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

John 8

31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Jeremiah 8

6 I hearkened and heard, but they spake not aright: no man repented him of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? every one turned to his course, as the horse rusheth into the battle.

7 Yea, the stork in the heaven knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle and the crane and the swallow observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the judgment of the LORD.

8 How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us? Lo, certainly in vain made he it; the pen of the scribes is in vain.

9 The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the word of the LORD; and what wisdom is in them?

Book 19, Psalm 119:89 For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.

Matthew 10:8 ...freely ye have received, freely give.

I firmly believe that the Rapture of the Church is imminent. The reason more people are not really aware of this is the rampant confusion in Christendom today. False prophets abound and there is a "Bible" to fit every false doctrine and every pseudo-Christian cult. Matthew 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. I do not agree with those who believe that "only the original autographs were inspired". I believe the Reformation texts were the embodiment of Psalms 12:6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Out of the flames of persecution and Satan's resistance arose the Authorized Version of 1611 "appointed to be read in the churches". The road to this point in church history is stained with the blood of Christ's martyrs.

How anyone could say that only the original autographs were inspired with a straight face is beyond comprehension since no person living in the last 300 years could possibly have seen them. God himself has promised in Psalm 12 that He will preserve His word forever. Psalms 12:6,7 - Verse 6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Verse 7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever. I trust that God is able to keep his promise to preserve His Word and suggest that He has done so in the KJV Bible. The importance of a Christian forming their doctrine with the KJV cannot be overstated. II Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; The perilous times of II Timothy 3 are here and the masses press into the broad gate; II Timothy 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Consider these words spoken of the Berean Synagogue of the Jews: "These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so". Acts 17:11.

I restate emphatically that the idea presented in the Bible is that (in both testaments) they had Scriptures which they could hold in their hands and read.
I John 1:1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;

Notice that the Bereans had Scriptures to search. Notice that when the angel appears to Daniel he refers to the scriptures. Daniel 10:21 But I will show thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince. Paul refers back to these same scriptures i.e. Romans 1:2 (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,). Again the apostle Paul makes reference to the holy Scriptures in his 2nd epistle to Timothy: II Timothy 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

There will never be a quote on my sites from the multitude of (per)versions except in documents showing their deficiencies by comparing them to see what has been spoiled. I personally use the (OLD) Cambridge edition of the KJV / AV1611. Any deviation from the KJV is purely accidental and I will appreciate it if you use the contact page to report any unintentional typographical errors. I especially would like to hear of it if you find errors in the Bible text itself.

The entire text of the Bible is available here on line for your Spiritual reading pleasure and edification. Please do not request any other version of the Bible to be placed on the site; it will not happen on my watch. The text of the Bible here includes the paragraph marks. Also included is the dedicatory in the front of the text, as well as the King James translators letter to the readers. Many of the KJV Bibles for sale today have removed all paragraph markers from the text and made the verse number in bold where there used to be a paragraph marker. Far more publishers have removed the dedicatory, and almost all have removed the translator's letter to the reader.

I have taken the liberty to present the Words of Christ in red. I have always enjoyed reading the Words of our Lord and Saviour in red. I pray that this is not a sin of presumptuousness. I don't know if the AV 1611 translators had a choice of ink colour. If they did I expect it would have been a laborious task to present the text alternating black and red on the same page using those ancient printing presses. Emulating a "red letter edition" and restoring deleted paragraph markers have been my only departures from the actual text of the AV 1611 4th edition. Modern rules of grammar and punctuation are not a consideration at all. I always take the position that the Bible is always right and any composition not aligned with the Scriptures is wrong.

I wonder how many people living in these latter days have noticed that it is always "the way of truth" that is evil spoken of? II Peter 2:2 Regarding the removal of the paragraph markers (and more recently the chapter and verse numbers as well), this is a very foolish thing to do since they must add more embedded escape sequences and control codes to turn bold print on and again to turn it off which makes the local and online version larger than it would be just to print the single character ¶. This was, of course, just a stepping stone. Now we have "reader's bibles" which have removed ALL the chapter and verse numbers as well. The Bible correctors will never be satisfied. Their ultimate goal is to rid themselves of the hated KJV Bible.

Perhaps the publishers are ignorant of the concept of character sets and commit this scriptural travesty for the sake of convenience. I am reminded of all the people I have known who reboot their computer every time something happens they don't understand. The ¶ paragraph markers are important to obey Second Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But of course the "modern translations" have butchered II Timothy 2:15 verse beyond recognition. However, not to worry: I have it in my Bible and it is available here for you.

The whole text of the OLD Cambridge edition of the KJV is available on my site(s). Jeremiah 26:2 Thus saith the LORD; Stand in the court of the LORD'S house, and speak unto all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in the LORD'S house, all the words that I command thee to speak unto them; diminish not a word:

Revelation 22

18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

¶ 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

¶ 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Deuteronomy 31

24 ΒΆ And it came to pass, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished,

25 That Moses commanded the Levites, which bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, saying,

26 Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee.

27 For I know thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, ye have been rebellious against the LORD; and how much more after my death?

Psalms 119

89 LAMED. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.

105 NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

140 Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it.

160 Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.

John 17

17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

John 14

23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.

John 8

31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

The Bible is the Word of God

Whether you understand this page or not, I hope I
have made you curious enough to read the Bible.

"If I have seen farther than other men, it is because I have stood on the shoulders of giants." - Sir Isaac Newton in a letter written to Robert Hook in February of 1676. *Note that I, as the author of this site, make no claim of originality in these matters; the time has come that men will not endure sound doctrine. The choice is a simple one really; are you willing to be taken by the world as a fool for Christ or not? Sincerely - James May
