Genesis 13
13 But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.
Genesis 19
1 And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;
2 And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night.
3 And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat.
4 ¶ But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter:
5 And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.
6 And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him,
7 And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.
Genesis 19
15 ¶ And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.
16 And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the LORD being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city.
17 ¶ And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.
Genesis 19
23 ¶ The sun was risen upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar.
24 Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;
25 And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.
Proverbs 1
24 ¶ Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:
Psalm 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.
26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;
27 When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.
28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:
29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:
30 They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.
31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.
32 For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.
33 But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.
This is a warning for all the world. The thing that bothers me the most is
that the people of the United States of America seem to think that they are the exception to God's laws.
I am of the opinion that the only reason that judgment has not fallen on my country is that there still are
enough of God's people that "sigh and cry for all the abominations done here":
Ezekiel 9:4 And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem,
and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.
The biggest problem in America today is the lack of interest in the truth.
Henry Luce
The late Henry R. Luce, the founder and editor of Time, Fortune, and Life magazines, once made a very profound statement. I can't say I agree with everything he believed but his perception was astute in the observation to your right in the pull quote.
I am sure there are many who would ask "What Abominations?" I am so glad that question comes up from time to time. Let's begin by reviewing God's; laws from the Book of Leviticus. The reason for these laws is evident in the story told in the left column with excerpts from Genesis Chapter 19.
Leviticus 18
22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
Leviticus 20
13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
Now here we have a real dilemma; Do you choose to believe the Bible or would you rather take the approach of the ostrich? Every single culture which has turned their backs on the LORD has been destroyed.
Call me homophobic if you wish. The only thing I have a phobia about is the judgment this nation will face; I think it may be too late to address this problem. I do pity those in this group who were molested as children and subsequently grew up to be molesters themselves.
It is evident to me from a careful study of the Scriptures that all of those cultures were positively infested with Sodomites (this word has been carefully and craftily removed from all versions derived from the Westcott & Hort Greek text). Deuteronomy 8:20 As the nations which the LORD destroyeth before your face, so shall ye perish; because ye would not be obedient unto the voice of the LORD your God. If you think I somehow get a sort of perverse pleasure in this viewpoint you are wrong. My family and my friends live in this country.
The Sodomites are not the only problem. The abortion crowd has grown progressively worse. New York now allows the baby to be killed right up to the moment of birth.
Only a very naive person would believe there will not be Doctors who will not push that criteria a little farther to make the job easier; after all it isn't what they do so much as the way they document it. Abort the fetus sounds so much more clinical than words like kill and murder.
Even if I am wrong about the preceding views (I am not) it is only a matter of time until they will be able to kill the baby after it is born. It is easy to imagine them taking the time when the crown of the infant's head appears, while they select the best instrument to commit the murder.
Are these the only problems? Of course not, but in my mind they are the worst since both of these abominations Genesis 19:24 Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven; usually result in the utter decimation of the nation involved. Destruction is always ugly, but it probably is the best solution when no repentance is evident.
After all, if the LORD does not intervene who will actually do something to save the babies? Infanticide may be legal and even acceptable to a morally bankrupt nation such as we have become, but it is still murder of the worst sort imaginable.
Ecclesiastes 8:11 Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
I used to believe most of what I saw in the news. Now I have faith in only one of them and that is Fox News. Lying by omission is rampant, as well as outright lies. The travesty committed against Brett Kavanaugh was nauseating. We finally have a President who is trying to keep his promises, and he is attacked by every foul Democratic Devil in the country. Why go on? Prayer is our only recourse while we wait for the LORD to come back.
Isaiah 5:20 ¶ Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
Jeremiah 26
2 Thus saith the LORD; Stand in the court of the LORD'S house, and speak unto all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in the LORD'S house, all the words that I command thee to speak unto them; diminish not a word:
3 If so be they will hearken, and turn every man from his evil way, that I may repent me of the evil, which I purpose to do unto them because of the evil of their doings.
John 14
1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
