Revelation 2
11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.
Revelation 20
6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
Revelation 20
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Revelation 21
8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Matthew 13
36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.
37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;
38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.
41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
¶ 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
¶ 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 ¶ He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
In the left column the top 4 scriptures each make reference to "the second death." In the right column the top 2 verses from John chapter 5 plainly show that everyone will be resurrected from the dead. They that have done good are resurrected from the grave to everlasting life and they that have done evil are resurrected from the grave to eternal damnation. Two things are abundantly clear from John chapter 5: There is life after death and if you reject the salvation which Jesus Christ offers you, then your life after death will be spent in everlasting torment in a place called Hell.
There is a widely believed fallacy that there is one general resurrection where each person is judged according to their works and if your good works outweigh the bad works you are admitted to Heaven. Silly jokes about St. Peter controlling admission or rejection through the pearly gates actually encourage this Bible ignorance. The fact is, none of us will be admitted to Heaven on the basis of our good works! Romans 3:23 summarizes our condition: "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"
Galatians 2:16 enumerates our choices: "Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
You can accept the salvation provided for every person by faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross or you can make the wrong choice and trust in your own good works in spite of the warning that "no flesh (not one single person)" will be justified by the law. Note John 3:18 in the right column; if you believe then you are not condemned, but if you don't believe you are condemned already.
You are justified by faith in Jesus Christ, not by the works of the law. If you are thinking God will make an exception for you, He won't. Further, it is not enough to believe secretly in your mind. James tells us that the devils also believe and tremble. Jesus puts it this way; "If you confess Him before others, He will confess you before the Father. If you deny Him before men, He will deny you before the Father."
If you think God will overlook anyones rejection of His Son, you are
gravely mistaken. There is no such thing in the Bible as abstention or neutrality;
if you don't willingly choose the Lord, you have already
willingly rejected Him. Jesus puts it plainly in both Matthew 12:30 and Luke
11:23 " He that is not with me is against me; and he that
gathereth not with me scattereth abroad."
There is a gospel song which contains
these lyrics: "If you tarry till you're ready, you will
never come at all."
Get hold of that fact.
Just in case you are not at all familiar with the Bible, allow me to expand your perception of "The Great White Throne." It is the one-time universal judgment of all who have rejected Christ to determine degrees of punishment. Just prior to this resurrection and judgment of the damned, the Earth and the Heavens (outer space) will pass away with a great noise and the elements will melt with fervent heat.
Only then are the unsaved dead called out of their graves. Everything familiar to you is gone; there is nothing above you and nothing below you. There is only the Great White Throne as your life unfolds in every aspect. Every dirty little secret and every pet sin is laid open for all to see. The very fact of your appearance before this throne means all hope is lost.
Don't worry about the hypocrites in the church; if their names are not written in the Book of Life, they will be there with you, but I suspect that will be no consolation at all. The Bible says that every person appearing at this judgment will say amen to their own damnation after all their arguments have been exhausted.
When the judgment of damnation is over, there will be a new Heavens and a new Earth wherein dwelleth righteousness, but you won't get to see it because death and Hell are cast into the Lake of Fire. You may be wondering if I am trying to scare you.
The answer is yes, if you are lost without Christ I am trying to
scare you into making the best decision you will ever make. I want
you to accept Jesus Christ as your Saviour. I did, and I consider
this to be the only smart thing I ever did.
Note this Please:
I have no hidden agenda; I do not solicit
or even accept donations. I do not want or need your money. I
only want you to know my Saviour!
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Hebrews 9:27
Very soon now, Christ will take His Bride, the Church, out of this world. Those who are left behind will move quickly into the reign of AntiChrist. You will no longer have to worry about people like me pestering you to accept the Lord. You will, however, be faced with a new decision to make and it is not optional. You will have to take the mark of the Beast in your right hand or your forehead which automatically guarantees you will go to Hell, or you will have to resist that demand and eventually you will be executed (beheaded) for that refusal.
The Beast and the false prophet will offer you signs and miracles. They will have many plausible reasons why you must do these things or you are not a responsible citizen in the new world order. Since you cannot buy or sell without doing so, you are neglecting your family. To refuse is to condemn your friends and neighbors who have done so. The majority of the world is doing so. Can all those who take the mark be wrong?
If you are not strong enough to accept Christ now, when it is easy you need to ask yourself if you will be strong enough to do so after the Church is gone. I truly hope you are. If you miss the rapture there still is hope! Do NOT take any marks in your right hand or on your forehead if you are left behind or you will lose your soul! Period. No ifs, ands or buts and no second chances. Don't worry about what other people think. They have the same decision to make that you do; remember that the fearful have their part in the lake of fire along with the unbelieving.
John 5
28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
II Peter 3
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
John 3
¶ 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
Revelation 20
11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
