Jeremiah 36
20 ¶ And they went in to the king into the court, but they laid up the roll in the chamber of Elishama the scribe, and told all the words in the ears of the king.
21 So the king sent Jehudi to fetch the roll: and he took it out of Elishama the scribe's chamber. And Jehudi read it in the ears of the king, and in the ears of all the princes which stood beside the king.
22 Now the king sat in the winterhouse in the ninth month: and there was a fire on the hearth burning before him.
23 And it came to pass, that when Jehudi had read three or four leaves, he cut it with the penknife, and cast it into the fire that was on the hearth, until all the roll was consumed in the fire that was on the hearth.
24 Yet they were not afraid, nor rent their garments, neither the king, nor any of his servants that heard all these words.
I wonder how many people remember the time that even lost people in the United States had a semblance of respect for the Scriptures? If you do recall those days, have you ever wondered what happened? There is a traceable sequence of events that have led us to the sad situation we are in today, i.e. Bible Ignorance. Consider the following summary list:
John 18
37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.
38 Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all.
So you see there is truth; Jesus Christ said so. Furthermore He said those who are of the truth will listen to what he says. Beware of the "philosophical approach" taken by Pontius Pilate.
Of course the above list is history now. The biggest problem in America today is the lack of
interest in the truth.
Henry Luce
Apostasy is the order of the day. In case there is anybody who has not noticed, things are not getting better.
Most newscasters today are afraid to speak on "sensitive" subjects; the fear is that they will be accused of a hate
crime like bigotry, racism, prejudice or a non-inclusive world view.
Perhaps they have taken the wisest course; it would be hard for them to do their job with the liberals sending activists around to embroil them in a law suit. And it's not just newscasters; remember the Colorado bakery sued for refusing to bake a cake for a gay wedding? Now he has been sued again for refusing to bake a cake for a "gender transition" celebration.
Political correctness has strangled the United States of America; it is no exaggeration that America is divided, not "United". The only question remaining is, do the liberals have the courage to start the civil war that they apparently want.
The real victims in America today are the Christians; especially Bible Believers who are branded "fanatical fundamentalists" and in that group, Believers guilty of "King James Only-ism" are considered the worst of the worst. Rage on. With any luck your blood pressure will kill you before you have a chance to take the mark of the beast.
I John 5
10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. Granted that a person who is saved generally knows they are saved, unless they are seriously back-slidden.
11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
John 8
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
Colossians 1
23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;
Jeremiah 26
2 Thus saith the LORD; Stand in the court of the LORD'S house, and speak unto all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in the LORD'S house, all the words that I command thee to speak unto them; diminish not a word:
3 If so be they will hearken, and turn every man from his evil way, that I may repent me of the evil, which I purpose to do unto them because of the evil of their doings.
