Exodus 23

20 ¶ Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared.

21 Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him.

22 But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries.

23 For mine Angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites: and I will cut them off.

24 Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works: but thou shalt utterly overthrow them, and quite break down their images.

25 And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.

Luke 1

26 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,

28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.

34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?

35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

I Kings 19

5 And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat.

7 And the angel of the LORD came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee.

This Page Very Much Under Construction

Note: This page is designed to contain a lot of Scripture pertaining to angels. My guiding maxim in life is that it does not matter what anyone thinks, because the Bible is always right and is the final authority. Hence the Scriptures are at the forefront of every discussion and are accepted as the only proof necessary.

There are 285 verses in the KJV Bible containing one or more occurences of the word "angel" (lower case 'a')and another 4 verses containing the word "Angel" (upper case 'A'). If you don't believe in the existence of angels, then you cannot believe the Scriptural narratives which use the word either, which means you don't really believe the Bible. That makes a total of 289 verses containing one or more occurrences of the word angel. Ignoring the first letter's case sensitivity, there are a total of 303 times that these two variations of the word "angel" are found in Scripture.

The context of these occurrences of the word "angel" is often in the form of a short narrative.... and yet there are many people who say they do not believe in angels.

Even worse there are many who hold to an abstract view of Heaven, but deny there is a Hell. People often imagine there is a sort of parallel universe which is a realm of spirits and good angels but deny there are any evil angels.

I confess I am a little puzzled at the thought processes of those who believe in good spirits but not in bad spirits.

One day of perusing the news reports should dispel that nonsense. Reports of heinous acts abound. If you take a look at the books on the best seller lists you may be surprised at what people are reading.

Remember the words of the Apostle Paul to Timothy: II Timothy 3:7 "Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth" and bear in mind these deceivers are described as "Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away." II Timothy 3:5

No matter what skeptics say or do or think, the Bible is 100% true. If you take the position that the Bible can be approached "cafeteria style" then you have set yourself up as a judge of the Holy Scriptures. For example, consider the number of people you have probably heard say something like this:

Consider the following Biblical accounts

Luke 16:22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom... ...

Amazing, the things some people prefer to the Bible!

Genesis 19:15 ¶ And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.

For a real leap of faith; try this one on: Sodom and Gomorrah could possibly been destroyed by a prehistoric nuclear explosion. Interesting how some folks prefer such fantastic drivel to the Biblical account.
Genesis 19:24 Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;

Here are a few more Biblical narratives about Angels!

In Numbers chapter 22 verses 22-27 and 31-35 we have the account of Balaam the son of Besor on his way to teach Balak to cast a stumbling block before the children of Israel:

Chapter 22
22 ¶ And God's anger was kindled because he went: and the angel of the LORD stood in the way for an adversary against him. Now he was riding upon his ass, and his two servants were with him.
23 And the ass saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and the ass turned aside out of the way, and went into the field: and Balaam smote the ass, to turn her into the way.
24 But the angel of the LORD stood in a path of the vineyards, a wall being on this side, and a wall on that side.
25 And when the ass saw the angel of the LORD, she thrust herself unto the wall, and crushed Balaam's foot against the wall: and he smote her again.
26 And the angel of the LORD went further, and stood in a narrow place, where was no way to turn either to the right hand or to the left.
27 And when the ass saw the angel of the LORD, she fell down under Balaam: and Balaam's anger was kindled, and he smote the ass with a staff.
31 Then the LORD opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and he bowed down his head, and fell flat on his face.
32 And the angel of the LORD said unto him, Wherefore hast thou smitten thine ass these three times? behold, I went out to withstand thee, because thy way is perverse before me:
33 And the ass saw me, and turned from me these three times: unless she had turned from me, surely now also I had slain thee, and saved her alive.
34 And Balaam said unto the angel of the LORD, I have sinned; for I knew not that thou stoodest in the way against me: now therefore, if it displease thee, I will get me back again.
35 And the angel of the LORD said unto Balaam, Go with the men: but only the word that I shall speak unto thee, that thou shalt speak. So Balaam went with the princes of Balak.

Just a few more, I promise...

Genesis 22:11 And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.

Genesis 22:15 ¶ And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time,

Moses at the burning bush: Exodus 3:2 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.

The angel leading the children of Israel out of Egypt: Exodus 14:19 ¶ And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them:

Judges 6:11 ¶ And there came an angel of the LORD, and sat under an oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abiezrite: and his son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites.

Judges 6:12 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.

II Peter 1

19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

II Peter 2

1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

Matthew 13

44 ¶ Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

Isaiah 12

2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

3 Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.

Nehemiah 8

10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.

II Samuel 24

16 And when the angel stretched out his hand upon Jerusalem to destroy it, the LORD repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed the people, It is enough: stay now thine hand. And the angel of the LORD was by the threshingplace of Araunah the Jebusite.

II Kings 19

35 ¶ And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the LORD went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.

Search the Scriptures; for in them you think you have eternal life and they testify of me.

If you are looking for truth you can find it here. I can boldly assert that because the focus of this site is the Bible. Jesus told the Pharisees to "Search the Scriptures"; it isn't about me. What will you do then with Jesus which is called Christ? What will you do then with Jesus which is called Christ?
